An outing to our home turf at Exmouth Market took place on Friday 16th January 2004. 'Oh dear,' I thought as I waved to a forlorn-looking Richard Lucas outside the doors of Wellington House. You see, I was comfortably established on a speeding 341, and a raging appetite disinclined me to sacrifice my seat; the bus was later described as 'early'. Thus I entered Clark's Palace of Pies at just after the thirteenth hour, accompanied by Mr Darlow and Big Al.

We were joined after an interval by Messrs Lucas, Lowing and Hollingsworth, and were soon enjoying the mixture of traditional delicacies and convivial banter which keeps us 'regular'. Apologies for the lack of footage, but most of you will be familiar with Clark's gleaming interior - a glamour shot from the archive will have to suffice. To the right of the lovely lady is a recent shot of the area which I thought you would enjoy – courtesy of local worker Kim Gilmour at http://www.londonphotos.org/

Next on our agenda is Godard's of Deptford, wherein we enjoyed a stodgy slice of historical scran this time last year. There were no eels on the chalkboard, so points accumulators beware. Suggested rendez-vous for the West Enders is 12.50 on the bridge over the platforms at Waterloo East station. See the departure board below for details. Otherwise meet in the shop at about 1.16pm.
